Dr.Manimekalai Mohan
Dr. Manimekalai Mohan is an Indian educationist, innovator, and entrepreneur based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She is the Founder and Managing Trustee of the SSVM Group of Institutions and a co-founder of the Ruh Continuum School. With over 30 years of experience in educational leadership, she is recognized for her contributions to academic innovation, holistic education, and institutional development.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Manimekalai Mohan completed an integrated Post Graduate degree in Psychology and Rehabilitation Science from Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli|Holy Cross College, Trichy. She was later conferred a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) from America West University and the University of South America. She also holds the title of Honorary Professor of the Academic Union, Oxford|Oxford, UK.
Career
In September 1998, Dr. Manimekalai Mohan founded the SSVM Group of Schools in Mettupalayam. Since its establishment, the group has expanded to multiple campuses across Coimbatore and neighbouring regions. As the Managing Trustee and Correspondent, she oversees administrative operations, educational policies, and the strategic direction of the institutions.
She is also the co-founder of Ruh Continuum School, which offers international curricula with an emphasis on holistic and experiential learning. In addition, she serves as a member of the General Council of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Her leadership extends to several educational and professional bodies. She has served as Vice-President of the Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex for nine years and held leadership roles in the Association of Management of Private CBSE Schools for over a decade. Since 2017, she has been serving as the Chairman of the Association of Management of Private CBSE Schools.
Beyond the field of education, she is associated with the corporate and social sectors. She serves as a Director of MAKS Global Properties Private Limited and Mosrimaa Infra Private Limited, and is also a Director of the Srisha Foundation. Additionally, she is an Elite Member of the World Confederation of Businesses.
